A bride-to-be called Charlotte contacted me back in July with an order for three handmade crochet buttonholes for her wedding. I absolutely loved the sound of her colour scheme – “Cadbury” purple crochet flowers with wooden button centres – gorgeous! Is she a chocolate lover, I wonder? Regardless, I knew I would enjoy making them!
I’m so pleased with these purple crochet flowers! The cotton merino yarn I use has such a fabulous stitch definition and holds its shape really well. This is really important as no-one wants a floppy buttonhole! The bold purple next to the soft green leaves looks beautiful, and the wooden button centre adds a touch of vintage to the look.
After posting the crochet buttonholes off to Derbyshire…
I was thrilled to receive an email from Charlotte in August saying, “They arrived today, thank you! I love them, as do the boys who will wear them!” You see, the buttonholes aren’t for the groom or his best man, they are for three little boys in her wedding party. The boys wore them with little grey suits and matching purple ties – I bet they looked so cute! The wedding took place in early November, so now that the date has passed, it’s safe to show you how they turned out…!
Would you like to order purple crochet flowers?
If you would like to order some purple crochet flowers for your wedding, or indeed any colour crochet flowers as brooches or buttonholes for any special occasion, please contact me with your requirements. I can usually make and ship small orders within 14 days, if not sooner. However, the more notice I have (e.g. during the busy wedding season!) the better. I can make handmade crochet flowers in any colour, with any colour button centre. Just let me know your colour scheme and I’ll see what I can do!
